CEO Read Pakistan Visit to Library.

Syeda Fatima Hasan Gilani captured the “spooktacular” condition of a somewhat eerie, yet historically rich library, Allama Iqbal Public Library in Faisalabad in a lighthearted video.
Established in 1945, this institution holds a treasure trove of knowledge that deserves restoration and care. This is the original public library built during the British Empire, completed in 1911.

Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony between the Read Pakistan and FAST NUCES Chiniot-Faisalabad on 8 September 2021. The signing was attended by Chairman Farrukh Dall, President and CEO Syeda Fatima Hasan Gilani, and Head of Student Chapters Hamdan Zulfiqar, while Dr. Shahzad Sarfraz, Director FAST NUCES CFD and other faculty were present from the university. The two parties discussed various matters and agreed to collaborate on a range of activities to promote reading in the FAST CFD student body, which will not only offer the students healthy co-curricular activities but also ensure their growth and development into responsible members of the society.

The event started with the recitation of the Quran by Jawad-Ul-Hassan, Jaffer Iqbal gave a review of Animal Farm by George Orwell, and . Our worthy chief guest Ms. Syeda Fatima Hassan Gilani (CEO and President of Read Pakistan) talked about Women Empowerment. Some points she shared are:

  • Be socially acceptable, never eatable.
  • Respect others and be respected
  • Understand your choice but learn from it.

The poets of the session were Mr. Younas, and Ms. Mehr Imran. Asma ended the session with a beautiful quote and note of Thank you.

University of Wah, Wah Cantt on 16 May, 2022

Readers’ Conference at University of Wah was held on May 16, 2022. It was the grand Book Club as Chairman Read Pakistan, Mr. Farrukh Dall attended the event. Other chief guests who honored the session were CEO, Read Pakistan – Ms. Syeda Fatima Hasan Gilani and Head Judges Committee Ms. Umme Kulsoom Khan. The book reviewed in this event was “Moby Dick” by Herman Melville. Ms. Hadees Fatima from 2nd semester of the department of Biosciences reviewed the book. Poetry was a part of this event too. Mr. Mamoon Ahmad Khilji spoke to the audience about the journey of UW Chapter up till now. Mr. Farukh Dall addressed the gathering followed by the talk of Ms. Umme Kulsoom Khan and Ms. Syeda Fatima Gilani. Chief Guests distributed appreciation certificates among reviewers and poets. Further, shields and certificates were awarded to the former team of Read Pakistan, UW Chapter in order to acknowledge their efforts and contributions. This illuminating session was ended with a group photo.

One of such ceremonies was held at Rawalpindi Women University in the form of orientation session to make students aware of the nature of this 50 Books A Year Competition.

Read Pakistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Rawalpindi Women University.
The signing took place on 7th October, 2021, and was conducted on the RWU campus in the presence of Vice Chancellor RWU Prof. Dr. Anila Kamal, along with Prof. Ghazala Tabassum, Additional Director QEC Dr .Bushra Parveen, Additional Director ORIC Dr.Asma Zahoor, Additional Director Students’ Service Cell Ms. Sonia Bokhari. Chairman Read Pakistan Mr. Farrukh Dall, President Gilgit-Baltistan Ms. Umme Kulsoom, Head of Student Chapters Mr. Hamdan Zulfiqar, and International Liaison Officer Ms. Momina Talib attended the signing as well.
After an introductory presentation about Read Pakistan, the Chairman and Vice Chancellor RWU signed the MOU, proceeding which the two parties had a discussion on the state of reading in Pakistani society, as well as the trend of reading in undergraduate and high-school students over tea. READ Pakistan arranged “READ TALK INTERNATIONAL SESSION”, in collaboration of National Library of Pakistan on Thursday; January 30, 2020 at 03:00 p.m. to 05:00 p.m. with the theme of the event “READING IN DIGITAL WORLD” at Sir Syed Hall – an International Corner of National Library. Foreign Educationist and High Intellectuals from three different countries shared their thoughts on the different topics according to their country and culture. The session started with the recitation of Quranic Verses by Qari Azeem Chisti; and was followed by the opening remarks of Ms. Sabeen Naz; Vice President READ Pakistan; as Chairman READ Pakistan Mr. Farrukh Dall is out of station at the moment; and then Mr. Yasir Imtiaz Awan, President Punjab, READ Pakistan, invited our esteemed foreign guests/speakers who shared their thoughts, and insight on the following topics:

Read Pakistan strives day in, day out to promote Book Reading culture in Pakistan thorugh multiple programs, events and projects. One such outstanding project is Readers’ Conference.

We hold two kinds of conferences to highlight the transformational power of books. An Annual Conference (conducted in Islamabad) to appreciate the outstanding performance of each member.

And the second sort is a conference, held in each member educational institute/ university on annual basis. One such conference is recently conducted in Mohi ud din Islamic university, Tarar khal AJ&K on 11th of September 2021.
