Ameena Hassan is a lecturer of English at COMATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad. She has done her MPhil in Linguistics from Air University and Masters in English Literature from Foundation University with a Silver Medal. Her areas of interest include, English language teaching with special focus on the four language skills, assessment and evaluation of students' writing, quantitative research, practitioners research and teaching of literature. In her free time she likes to read all kinds of books. Her personal favourites are crime fiction, medical thriller, biography and inspirational writings. As a teacher she believes that students of English should read for mental stimulation, vocabulary building and better writing skills. In her opinion students need to build reading as a national habit for stronger analytical skills. Reading has been proven to relieve stress and improve focus and concentration. She intends to help motivate students to read more.
